Balloon safety
⚠ WARNING — CHOKING HAZARD
Children under 8 yrs. can choke or suffocate on uninflated or broken balloons. Adult supervision required. Keep uninflated balloons from children. Discard broken balloons at once.
Latex balloons are made of natural rubber latex, which may cause allergic reactions in some people.
Before you inflate
- Our balloons are supplied flat and uninflated for air filling. We do not sell or supply helium.
- Use a hand or electric balloon pump. Don’t inflate balloons by mouth near children, and never let children inflate balloons.
- Don’t over-inflate: stop at the size shown on the product page (for example 30 cm or 45 cm), or the balloon may burst.
- If anyone in the household has a latex allergy, choose foil balloons or paper garlands instead.
While balloons are up
- Keep uninflated balloons, balloon pieces, ribbon and packaging out of reach of children and pets.
- An adult should be present whenever children are near balloons.
- Keep balloons away from heat sources, sharp edges and direct hot sunlight.
- Foil (aluminium film) balloons conduct electricity. Never use them near overhead power lines and never release them outdoors.
Afterwards
- Collect every broken balloon and piece straight away and put them in the bin.
- Deflate foil balloons by cutting them near the neck before disposal.
- Please don’t release balloons into the air.
Paper garlands
Paper and tissue garlands are decorations, not toys. Hang them out of reach of young children and away from heat sources and open flames.
